Hello again, world.

I haven’t had a computer or internet access for two days now, as Jay spilled an entire cup of coffee on our laptop yesterday morning. After trying everything we could think of (by which I mean, we wiped it off, took off the battery and said many, many bad words), the dang thing still won’t turn on. I even threw in a good fist shake for just a touch of drama. Not only did it rebuff all of our attempts, I am pretty sure it shot me the bird.

But, since I will be working periodically while out on maternity leave, I justified bringing home my work laptop and now we have access to the rest of the world again. Hello world! Nice to see you! (BTW: you have something in your teeth).

Anyway, for the past two days I have been coming up with brilliant things to write about: really deep, insightful, wise, yet funny stories and ideas. But I have forgotten them. I do, however, have plenty of stories to enthrall you with about poop and pee.

I will be loading more pictures soon, as this computer has a port that I can plug my camera’s memory card right into and download minute by minute photos of this last week. Ella had her first bath today, which allowed us to finally wash away all of the newborn crud that has been tucked away for a week. Her umbilical stump fell off, and now the internal debate rages: to save this kinda gross piece of my kid’s body, or not? I just hate to throw things out, you know? Maybe Goodwill would like it?

My mom sent me THE BEST present ever- an edible arrangement. It was a beautiful “bouquet” of cut melon, pineapple, grapes, and strawberries, which I consumed in about 46 seconds.

I highly recommend this as an alternative to flowers. Chris wondered if next time, they could make it with steaks.
Also, we had our first family of four outing today: to the library, for storytime. I must admit, I am a little concerned about Ella. She showed no interest in any of the books they read. Maybe she prefers nonfiction?
