This is the best part of my day

I had to go into the office today. My boss needed me to work on some financial reports. I came in, on maternity leave, fitting in the time before my classes today, and although it was a pretty big inconvenience, he didn't even thank me for coming in, or acknowledge that yes, this was f'ed up for him to bring me in when this is not even, ostensibly, my job anymore. In fact, when I came into the office, at his request, he did not even come out of his office to greet me. Great to be here, dude. Glad I could give you my time, without being on the clock. Could you readjust my "kick me" sign, please- I wouldn't want it to fall off.

Then it was rush, rush, rush, (late- thanks, work) get to class, sit down, take notes, blah, blah, blah, cognitive dissonance and hierarchy effect and policymaking principles, try to make intelligent comments, fail miserably, spend remaining time willing the bell to ring, find the car, drive home, get stuck in traffic, hit every red light, run upstairs, open the door, and then, finally, finally, breathe. Because, this.

Thank god. Life is suddenly better.
