For the record, no one has tried to rub my belly yet. I am preparing for a time when they do.
Scenario One
Complete Stranger: Can I rub your belly?
Me: O.K., if I can rub yours, too.
Scenario Two:
Two words. Pocket tazer. Nuff said.
I am not normally this uptight, but the idea of a total stranger or even an acquaintance rubbing my belly really ticks me off. I am already sharing my body with a whole nother creature. Do I have to share it with the entire freaking world, too?
O.k., I promise not to use the tazer. Unless you know where I can get one.
In other news...
It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you turn. And here are pictures to prove it! It snowed last night, we got something like two or three inches. It doesn't matter. The point is that I got to dress Tabasco up in his cute jacket. Here are some pictures from my morning commute:

Tabasco on his way with me to the office. See? He is pretty cute in his jacket, yes?

This is Monona Bay, with a view of the Capitol in the background. In the middle of the picture (the dark spot) is a muskrat on the (mostly) frozen Monona Bay. It was snowing when I took the picture.

Walking to work. The streets were not yet plowed here.
We should get more snow throughout the day, too. This is most perfect knitting weather, which is good, because I have loads of knitting projects on my list. The current love of my life is the cable knit scarf below for a friend's Christmas present. It is being knit with a wool/alpaca/silk yarn and I sigh every time I handle it.

The color is what I would describe as "Boston Baked Bean". You know those little boxes of candy you bought for a dime when you were a kid? The candy coated peanuts? Um... did I just date myself?

Here's a close up. Don't you love cables?
