It’s Friday afternoon, and we’re officially in the cool-down segment of the work week. This is a good thing, because earlier this week I was uncomfortably close to taking a sledge hammer to my computer. It got ugly. We had words. I think I made it cry.
In the ordeal, I did however manage to learn a new skill, the headache that is Javascript. My task: to create an interactive fee calculator for use on our website. My tools: a very unhelpful, woefully outdated “Designing Websites for Dolts” book and a skeleton of a code from a previous calculator. My outcome: a seriously rocking fee calculator that may mean that I never have to accomplish another thing in my entire life.
So after the harrowing battle with my computer and its Javascript co-conspirator, my thoughts have turned to vacation, which, gleefully will be in Grand Teton National Park in a land far, far away from Javascript and computers and fee calculators, called "Wyoming". In fact, I’ve been assured that they don’t even have computers in "Wyoming".
We’ll be leaving in only five days so of course I haven’t packed a thing yet. Chris was packed for this vacation three months ago. He and Kodi have been waiting in the car since last Thursday.
But we’ve all been in training for this grand adventure. Chris and I have augmented our regular runs with stair climbing workouts. Kodi has been running more often and longer with us, and has been wearing his doggie back pack around the house that will carry all of his food. And Tabasco has become adept at scratching urgently at my leg to be picked up once he realizes that walking may be involved. Yup, I think we’re ready.
