Like a big girl.

….Aaaaaaaaand here I am. I made it into the office and I am sitting at my desk, just like I used to, before I had two kids, before the economy tanked and the world went to hell in a handbasket. Yes indeedy. Here I am.

My first news upon arriving at the office this morning was, Welcome back! Get to work earning us money, ‘cause otherwise, we be SCREWED.

I won’t lie. Financial times at our nonprofit, at any nonprofit, right now are tough. Really, really tough. We have been ordered not to buy STAMPS at least until the end of the year. I wish I were kidding. So, on my first day back at the office, I miss my kids dearly. But suddenly I am seized with fear that I won’t have the ability TO miss them, as the economy spins and whirls on this economic rollercoaster. I may be right back at home, afterall.

I could really use some good news right now. Which reminds me. If you haven’t already, go vote today. This is not to say the election results will make everything better. But you will get a free sticker.

Which might come in handy for mending the heels in socks or holding your car together just a little bit longer…
