Today Jay turns three years old.
And although today is his official birthday, we are keeping mum about it because we are just coming off of a two day birthday bender. Jay has been running on pure sugar and adrenaline for three days and we are SO over this birthday thing, in an eyeball twitchy sort of way.
We celebrated his birthday this weekend both at the Schultz farm in Clintonville and then with Grandma and Grandpa Gavin in Verona.
I have loads of pictures and film that I intend to make videos out of but realistically probably won’t find the time for until his next birthday. And unfortunately we will never be able to live up to the memory of this birthday, which was complete with tractor rides, sheep feeding, a train cake and balloons. He played with Sofia, his best friend in the world. And by “played”, I really mean “fought”, because they are more like brother and sister than anything. Still, as we drove away, he asked sadly, “When are we going to see Sofie again?”
We drove from the farm to Grandma and Grandpa’s house in Verona. There Jay got train tracks and a shiny new red bike from us. He was SO excited. It was pure joy to watch him climb on and ride back and forth in front of the house. But it was ass freezing cold, so we let him ride a bit and then bailed on him and watched, huddled inside the front door shouting, “Good job, honey!” and “Way to stop the bike with your face!” and other such forms of praise and encouragement.
I have pictures and video of it all. And I will upload it to the blog soon.
Well… o.k. Spring break is over and there actually isn’t time for that. Instead I share this fabulous movie that Jean made because she is wonderful and can do really cool stuff with her Mac.
But I will post some actual birthday pictures. Soon. Really.
Happy Birthday, Kiddo. My love you.
OK, seriously; stop making me farklempt! The video is awesome, however, like attractions in an amusement parks with the sign, “You must be this tall to ride”, this video and some of your posts should come with a disclaimer, “You must have at least half a box of tissue (or arm sleeve) to enjoy this post.) FYI, even with the Kleenex disclaimer, I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Jay, momma & daddy!
