....And I'm back

Our group presentated to the State Secretary of Health yesterday and it was a smashing success. Pictured above in red behind me is the Secretary, Karen Timberlake. Here's what our professor (pictured second to the right) said of our presentation in an email to staff back at the university:

"The team did an absolutely spectacular job. So impressive they were
that there was an immediate request, if the department can work it out, for them
to analyze the newer BRFS for the department! The DHS Secretary assured
her staff the recommendations would be given full consideration. And the
report will be presented at a subsequent DHS staff meeting, by some of the team
if they are available."

It was a great project, made even better by a fanstatic group that I worked with- my group members are pictured to my left. What's better, I think we truly have made a difference in how the state deals with LGBT health issues from here on. We have volunteered to be involved with any future work in the area, and it looks likely that they will take us up on it.
