Maybe it’s not Made in China quality, but it’s not bad for the first time around. It fits perfectly and doesn’t look half bad when it’s actually on a foot. Yay!
However, knitting is not the cost saver that I once assumed it was. After materials and labor, this single sock cost me about… three hundred and thirty dollars, based on my hourly wage. And considering that I get all bent out of shape if I have to pay more than about ten dollars for a good pair of socks, the economics of knitting socks for a living only work out if you’ve had many, many drinks.
Still it’s a good way to spend the bus ride to and from work. And maybe someday, if I get good enough, I’ll be able to work in a sweatshop, too…
