I don't talk about Kodiak much here, mostly because he is not little and tiny and also small and cute. But Kodi is our other dog, or as we like to say, our
real dog. He has been coming into the office with me lately which is nice. My office mates love him, he is quiet and gentle and he loves everyone. Best of all, he gets me out the door for runs come lunch time, even when it's cold, and I don't feel like it. Around 1 pm he starts whining to go outside. If I ignore him he starts pacing. If I continue to ignore him, he stares at me imploringly and begins nosing my arm as I type.
By about 2 pm, I can no longer ignore him, and so I strap on my running shoes and leash him up. Out we go, into the snow, or cold or sunshine. We do interval training together. He sees a squirrel and I sprint madly to keep up. He keeps a tough pace, faster than I would go on my own, which is often just what I need to clear my head.

Thanks, coach.
