Hooray for:

-Dark chocolate covered cranberries. Which really are a health food if you think about it, because they simultaneously prevent urinary tract infections while fending off head cancer so why not eat the whole damn box just like I did this afternoon?

-Fridays. Hello pizza for dinner and staying up late.

-Knitting while listening to the Anne of Green Gables book on CD, cleverly loaded onto my iPod for instantaneous sweepage into another world filled with fanciful names and large imaginations. This was my favorite book growing up and when I saw the book on CD at the library last week, I picked it up and loaded it onto my iPod. I was glad to find that I enjoy the book every bit today as I did back then. I loved Anne and the whole world she brought me into. I hope someday Jay and Ella will love her, too. I’ve also loaded several Little House on the Prairie books, another favorite. I am such an old timey dork, the way I romanticize living a hundred years ago.

-Sunny October days. The air is crisp, the leaves are brilliant and the chill in the air makes you want to go home and bake fresh bread to warm the house and fill every nook and cranny with that intoxicating yeasty smell.

- Pumpkin picking. We took Jay and Ella pumpkin picking with Aunt Rosie and Uncle Rob last week. We made our way through Wisconsin’s obligatory celebration of fall: an enormous corn maze. Rosie forced us all, as usual, to hunt for the secret prizes scattered throughout the maze so that we could earn an additional prize- a total of two mini Tootsie Rolls to split between the six of us. Woo-freaking-Hoo. Still, I am so extremely grateful that she made us do it, because it meant that we got to spend even more time with her. It is so wonderful having her in town. I am continuing my plan for moving the rest of my family to Wisconsin, although winter seems to be thwarting my efforts. At least Rosie is hearty.

- You. Thanks for reading my blog. It means a lot to me that folks come by and leave comments.
